My husband and I been co-hosting a Family Friendly Channel called KwingsLetsPlays since 2012, and we've been creating fun wholesome Gaming Content since 2006 on YouTube.
My husband was in a car accident that rocked our world in 2004. With his Game Journalist Background and his inability to leave the house due to pain & other devastating health repercussions from that accident, YouTube has been not only a way for us to Live and Thrive & create a happy Place we can share the games we love, but also a place that viewers can share that with all of us as well! (viewers of all ages)
Our income has already been severely impacted by the other COPA bills and bills similar to them, starting back in 2016. This has forced my disabled husband who already has multiple health conditions, to have to work many times from around 3 in the afternoon till around 7-10 am the next day, just to get the videos for our channel edited, uploaded, and shared so with our audience for the day!
Starting in 2016, we had saved up for a house and were working on moving cross country to care for my aging parents, but due to the regulations that have already passed, our videos have now been removed from the search engine of YouTube for being too "Family Friendly" (heaven forbid)
YouTube has now confirmed to us that only 1 percent of our subscribed audience even has the ability to see our videos on YouTube at all, causing us to have to work that much harder (literally night and day) to get our fun family friendly content out to the parents, kids, and older and newer gamers alike that have been subscribing for our content since 2012.
The biggest blow that these internet regulations have caused to us is that we had to cancel our health insurance recently, and with a husband who is already suffering from multiple conditions due to a car accident he could not control (was T-boned by a guy running a red light) the Internet regulations' devastating affects have caused me to no longer be able to get help for my sick husband the next time he needs it.
My husband's hard work and dedication to KwingsLetsPlays and not only that but his second channel on YouTube since 2006, Knightwing01, has not only been inspirational to kids with similar disabilities and inabilities to live a normal life like my husband, but also it has impacted, teenagers, older adults, and whole families, some who have told us that our content is so wholesome, its been a tradition to watch us as they sit around the dinner table enjoying a meal.
There have been kids with autism, adults who have been dealing with devastating life issues or decisions, as well as old and new gamers who just enjoy watching a little bit of good old wholesome content on the internet once in a while. People love coming to our channel every day to interact with each other as well as us to just get away from life's problems and enjoy watching the Kwings while grabbing a snack and maybe hanging out with their cat( or dog) And if mom comes in the room it's ok! because it's just the Kwings, a channel that was started to be fun for all ages since 2012.
If this new bill passes I fear it will be the final nail in the coffin for a channel that we started way back in 2012 and a journey we began in 2006, the year we were first married, the year everyone we knew said we could never do it, that we'd never amount to anything, and that love doesn't solve all problems in this life.

Contrary to what people said that day, the day we were married, I'd like to think that love does solve all problems that you will ever have in life. With love from our fans and viewers, and mutual love for the games we've played, we've been able to transform our lives of darkness into a message of hope.
The KwingsLetsPlays Youtube channel has made a way for ourselves to be truly happy enjoying each other's company while playing through a game from our childhood or maybe a new game were just experiencing and sharing with our viewers online.
And we've been able to pass on that message of hope and love to our viewers who may be experiencing the most terrible day, but always make it back to hang out on stream or watch a fun Versus video to remind them, that tomorrow's just another day. Things may be dark now, but there's always hope for another brighter day tomorrow.
I encourage everyone reading this to sign this petition to stop Congress from passing this terrible COPPA bill and all other similar "Internet Regulation" bills that you may ever see pop up like it in the future. Taking away good family friendly content from the internet is in no way helping you, your family, and it certainly isn't helping the kids.
I'll tell you what Family Friendly gaming is doing on YouTube, though and on the Intenet in general. It's giving kids a safe place to make friends with people with similar interests all over the world. Online Gaming is breaking down language, cultural & all kinds of age old barriers and allowing people from all races, backgrounds and ideologies to be able to set all their differences aside and just sit down and play a game together.
Gaming creates Unity! Gaming creates Hope! Gaming inspires Creativity in a way this dull and dreary world can oftentimes Never Do! And at it's TRUE heart, Gaming creates Joy!
A true gamer is not one who gets all the tokens or prizes. No matter what may happen in this cruel unfair, demanding life, a true gamer's heart always goes back to that game that he or she loved as a child, to experience that joy once again, true joy, a true peace that arrives from sitting quietly and playing a beloved game.
I'm sorry FTC, but you're wrong. I'm sorry Congress but you're wrong. I'm sorry Lobbyists gunning for this COPPA bill and even worse ones to come, but you are undeniably wrong! And, even though you've already taken our income, vilified us in the press, and made it nearly impossible for us to even breathe on YouTube, we will never stop gaming. We will not stop making videos. You will not take our joy. You will not take our hope. You will not take our livelihoods!
If you beat us down, we will just make another platform ( it make take a few years though) to share our gaming experiences with others and to once again create communities that we can share and play games together to get away from this mundane, hopeless world that lets face it, you politicians are partially responsible for creating to begin with
